Violet J. "Cookie" Pillsbury, 71, of Sweet Arrow Lake Rd., Pine Grove, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023 at home surrounded by family and friends.
Born on April 29, 1951 in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Geraldine F. Bensinger Riegle.
She worked for Moen in Pine Grove for 15 years and retired from Hydro after 28 years. She was such a dedicated and great worker that upon her retirement, they named a machine after her (Cookie).
She was and will always be known as a loving, caring, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and great friend to many. She loved going to Delaware to see family, go to the beach, boardwalk and relax in the sun. In her earlier years, she loved bowling and playing golf with her late husband. She was a die hard Philadelphia Eagles fan.
She will be missed by many but her memories will live on in everyone she touched.
Preceding her in death were her husband Charles "Chuck" Ayers Pillsbury, Jr.; her grandmother Violet Brown Bensinger, a grandson, Marco Burgur; a step grandson Brandon Daubert; and a niece and nephew.
Surviving are a son William Koenig and his partner Nicole Pardue of Kempton; a daughter and her caregiver, Michelle Long Daubert and husband Lynn of Pine Grove; two grandsons, Joseph Long and Nathan Long, both of Pine Grove; a granddaughter, Sara Koenig and her partner Holden Britt of Mississippi; great grandchildren; her Delaware family, which includes her sister, Patsy Greene and two nieces, Toni and husband Jarrod Ulsh and Wendi Raber; aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 7:00 P.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove. There will be a visitation on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
