Sandra P. (Potts) Manbeck

Sandra P. Manbeck, 78, of W. Mill St., Pine Grove, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Schuylkill East. 

Born on November 21, 1943 in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Arthur J. and Emma Nye Potts. 

Sandra was a 1961 graduate of Pine Grove Area High School and held a secondary education degree from Susquehanna University. 

Early in her career she taught math and algebra at Line Mountain and Williams Valley High Schools.

She retired from Pine Grove Area School District after 20 years of teaching 8th grade algebra.  She was an exceptional teacher and both her students and colleagues held her in highest regard.  While at Pine Grove she was very involved with the High School Cheerleading Program and held the advisor position for 10 years. 

She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher. She was a member of the Lutheran Church Women's Club, Schuylkill County Democratic Committee and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. She loved cats.

Preceding her in death were a daughter, Kelly Lynne Manbeck and a brother, David Potts. 

Surviving is her husband of 58 years, Richard Manbeck; a daughter, Kristen Kaufman of Pine Grove; a son Kent Manbeck and his companion Kelly Rudy of Pine Grove; two grandchildren, Jordan and wife Kenna Kaufman, Zonai Zerbe and fiancé Christian Wilson; four great grandchildren, Aden Donton, Bralen Sheffy, Gannon Kaufman, and Camden Wilson; three sisters, Kay Potts of Lewisburg, Carol Hanna of Kennett Square, Donna and husband William Thomas of Lebanon; nieces and nephews. 

There will be a visitation on Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove. Graveside Services and interment will be held at St. Peter''s Lutheran Cemetery at the convenience of the family with Pastor Brian Beissel officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to either the PGA Cheerleading Boosters, c/o Heather Schaeffer, 3 Frantz Rd., Pine Grove, Pa. 17963 or the Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA, 18 Wertz Dr. Pine Grove, Pa. 17963 in her memory.
