Robert Ray Readinger, 89, of Bethel Rd., Pine Grove, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, September 26, 2020, surrounded by his family.
Bob or Legend, as he was known by his family and friends as, was born on March 11, 1931 in Pine Grove, a son of the late Ray and Mabel Schnoke Readinger.
He was a 1949 graduate of Pine Grove High School and a graduate of Williamsport Technical School after returning from serving in the military. He was a member of Hetzel's UCC, Pine Grove.
Bob was an Army veteran having served in Germany during the Korean Conflict.
He worked for 32 years for the former Graffius Burial Vault Co. in Sinking Spring.
Bob was a life member of the Pine Grove Lions Club and was a past District Governor, Pine Grove VFW Post 3432, Rock Fish & Game, a social member of Camp Phil-up, and had been active in Boy Scouts. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and going to the cabin.
Preceding him in death were his wife Naomi E. Biddle Readinger; a sister Betty Whitehouse; a step brother Clifford Schnoke.
Surviving are two sons, David and wife Diane Readinger, Donald Readinger; two daughters, Deberah and husband David Fritz, Darla and husband Scott Hamilton, all of Pine Grove; 14 grandchildren, Ben, Valerie, Cassandra, Jonathan, Timothy, Sarah, Laura, Andrew, Christopher, Nicholas, Michael, Christiane, Kelli and Chloe; 5 great grandchildren, Reiley, Victoria, Levi, Finley and Jade; a step sister, June Burgard of Palmyra
Graveside Services and interment will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 11:45 A.M. at Hetzel's Cemetery, 261 Hetzel's Church Rd., Pine Grove with Pastor John Reis officiating. There will be a viewing on Friday, October 2, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to Hetzel's UCC Memorial Fund, 261 Hetzel's Church Rd., Pine Grove, Pa. 17963 in his memory.
