In Loving Memory of Robert J. Collins
Robert J. Collins, 71, of Pottstown-formerly of Pine Grove-passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, surrounded by love.
Born on February 15, 1954, in Pottsville, Robert was the son of the late William and Mary (Cosack) Collins. He dedicated his professional life to public service through the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, where he rose through the ranks and retired with distinction as Superintendent of SCI Frackville.
A lifelong outdoorsman, Robert found joy in nature-whether hunting, fishing, or cruising scenic roads in his Corvette. He was a proud member of the Tulpehocken Rifle and Pistol Club and Ducks Unlimited, reflecting his passion for conservation and sport.
Above all, Robert cherished his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose greatest happiness came from time spent with his loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Ryan Collins.
Robert is survived by his wife, Lola Collins; his daughter, Megan Weiss, and her husband Gerald III (GJ); his grandchildren, Gerald IV (G) and Evelyn Weiss; his brothers, Daniel Collins and Philip Collins, along with Philip’s wife Hilary and their son Patrick.
In honoring Robert’s wishes, all services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia at chop.edu/giving, a cause close to the family’s heart.
