Marion E. Hughes, 94, of Roedersville, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024 in Providence Place, Pottsville. 

Born on October 25, 1929 in Roedersville, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Rebecca Brown Hughes. 

She was a 1946 graduate of Pine Grove High School and attended Central Penn Business School. 

Marion had worked for the state in Harrisburg and then was secretary to the Plant Manager in Accounting for Allied Chemical, Pottsville. 

She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Friedensburg, where she served as treasurer. She loved to play her favorite game Mexican train dominoes, read, crossword puzzles, and travel with her sisters and nieces and nephews. She also volunteered for Diakon. 

Preceding her in death were two sisters, Catherine Geist and Arlene Fuhrman. 

Surviving are five nephews and one niece, great nephews and nieces. 

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:30 A.M., at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 24 Church Rd., Friedensburg, with Pastor Larry Laine officiating. There will be a viewing on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 10:30 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. at the Church. Interment will follow in St. John's Union Cemetery, Friedensburg. 

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, c/o Walter Stump, 1090 Deturksville Rd., Pine Grove, Pa. 17963 in her memory.
