Leonard H. "Len" Schaeffer, 86, of Palmyra, formerly of Pine Grove, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024 in the Lebanon VA Medical Center.

Born on July 10, 1938 in Rock, he was a son of the late Herbert H. Schaeffer and Ethel Reed Rumberger.

He was a 1956 graduate of Pine Grove High School.  Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving for four years and his last assignment was with the 4050th Field Maint. Sq.

Leonard worked in maintenance for the Sewage Treatment Plant in Pine Grove.

He was a member of the Pine Grove Lions Club, Tremont Senior Citizens, and a social member of the Pine Grove VFW.

Preceding him in death were his first wife, Helen Thomas Schaeffer; his second wife, Mary Ellen Krammes Schaeffer; two step children, Sandra Greish and Dale Clark;  and a brother, James Schaeffer.

He was a father to Debra and Susan; step father to Terry and husband Lewis Hughes of Schuylkill Haven; a brother to Rodney Schaeffer of Orwigsburg; grandfather and step grandfather; and had lived with his caregiver, Ruth Ann Gernert in Palmyra.

Per Leonard's request, there will be no services.
