Claire A. Williams, 103, of Pine Grove, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 in The Gardens of York Terrace, Pottsville.  

Born on January 7, 1920, in Pine Grove Twp., she was a daughter of the late William and Minnie Wenrich Tobias.

She was a 1936 graduate of Pine Grove High School and was the oldest graduate who attended the Pine Grove High School Alumni Banquet this past May.  She was a member of the Most Blessed Trinity Parish in Tremont.   

Claire worked as a Cafeteria Worker in the Pine Grove School District and then had been employed in the Warping Department at Gold Mills, Inc., Pine Grove.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Edward Williams in 1959; a son, Michael Williams; two infant sons; five sisters, Alma Stahl,  Evna "Peggy" Tobias, Marie Richards, Roma Klinger, and Ada Schneck;  two brothers, Earl Tobias and Thomas Tobias.

Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Susan Williams of Catasaqua; two grandchildren, Brittany Williams and Nicholas Williams; nieces and nephews.  

Memorial Services will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc. with Father George Kochuparambil officiating.   There will be a visitation on Monday, September 18, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Tremont.    

The family would prefer, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Michael T. Williams scholarship fund, and send to Susan Williams, 820 Poplar St. Catasaqua, Pa. 18032 in her memory.
