Betty Jean Deichert, 85 of Spruce St., Pine Grove, passed away on Tuesday morning, June 22, 2021 at home.  

Born on November 26, 1935 in Greenberry,  Tremont Twp., she was a daughter of  the late Arthur and Mabel Strausser Smith.  

Betty was a 1952 graduate of Tremont Twp. High School and a member of St. Peter's U.C.C., Pine Grove.  

She was unconditionally devoted to her family and loved to entertain them during the holidays.  She was a skilled baker and gardener.  

Preceding her in death was a brother Larry Smith.  

Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Charles W. Deichert; three sons, Jeffrey and wife Maria Deichert of Pine Grove, Joel and wife Darlene Deichert of Pottsville, Jason and wife Charise Deichert of Pine Grove; a daughter, Justine and husband Jason Schach of Pine Grove; 9 grandchildren, Nicole Deichert, Erin Morgan, Lynne Delinko, Andrew Deichert, Payton Schach, Gavin Schach, Hunter Deichert,  Addyson Deichert, and Irelyn Henry; 5 great grandchildren, Alana Smith, Jordan Morgan, Quincy Allen, Tatum Delinko, and Evelyn Deichert; a sister, Arlene Knoll of Pine Grove; nieces and nephews.  

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral  Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Pastor David Fehr officiating.  There will be a viewing on Monday, June 28, from 12:30 P.M.- 2:00 P.M. at the Funeral  Home.   Interment will follow in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove.  

The family would prefer, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either St. Peter's United Church of Christ, 277 S. Tulpehocken St. Pine Grove, PA 17963, or to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 5005 LBJ Freeway Suite 526 Dallas, TX 75244, in her memory.
