Alvin “Al" D. Lemmon Jr, 61, of Tremont passed away on Thursday, May 13 due to natural causes.  Al is the son of late Alvin D. Lemmon and Alice Lemmon and was born in San Francisco, CA in 1959.  Like his father, Al joined the U.S. Army at a young age and spent 23 years defending his country in places like Honduras, Germany, Iraq, Iran, and Saudi Arabia.  Al was married to Janet Swartzlander from 1979 until her passing in 2015 and is survived by their 3 children;  Kathleen; spouse Liz, Jonathan; Spouse Jennifer, Alvin III, and grandchildren;  Zackari and Johnathon Shaffer.   Al was an avid bowler and enjoyed spending time on the lanes with his children.  Al also enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, playing bingo, going to concerts, baseball games, spending time with his wife, kids, grandkids, friends, and family.  He also enjoyed spending time with buddies from the military.  Al is survived by his three children, nephew James, and niece Kristi. Al was a kind hearted soul that would help anyone in need.  Al will be joined in heaven by his parents, sisters, brother, wife Janet, and grandson Finnegan and will truly be missed.  A Viewing  will be held on Tuesday, May 18th from 8:00am-9:30am at H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc. in Pine Grove and will be followed by a ceremony at Ft. Indiantown Gap for a limited group of family & friends due to CDC Covid guidelines.
