Steven L Yoder, 68, of Old Canal Rd., Pine Grove, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
Born on August 27, 1949 in Pottsville,  he was a son of the late Bert and Doris Hand Yoder.
He was a 1967 graduate of Pine Grove High School.  He attended Wyoming Seminary for electrical engineering and the police academy at HACC.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove.
Steve's passion was to be a police officer and he took pride in his work.  He worked in Tremont, Auburn, Harrisburg for the Capital Police, 16 years in Pine Grove and 6 years at Indiantown Gap.
He was a member of the NRA,  Sons of the American Legion in Pine Grove, Pine Grove VFW Post 3432, H.H. & L. Fire Co. #1, Ten Pin Club, Pine Grove Fish & Game, and life member of the Tulpehocken Rifle & Pistol Club.
Preceding him in death was a grandson Zachary Russell Moyer.
Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Cynthia Martin Yoder;  two daughters, Melissa Ulsh and companion Todd Bettinger of Tremont, Valerie and husband Scott Moyer of Pine Grove;  a son, John Wentworth and companion Megan Vides of Millersburg;  10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 312 S. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove with Dr. Richard Schoenleber officiating.  There will be a visitation on Thursday, August 30, 2018, from 10:00 A.M. - 11:30 A.M. at the Church.  Interment will follow in the St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove.
