Miriam  R. Bazar, 91, of Village Rd., Orwigsburg, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at home.
 
Born on November 4, 1926, in Rock, she was a daughter of the late Charles F. and Myrtle R. Jones Wehry.
 
She was a 1944 graduate of Pine Grove High School and a 1948 graduate of Lebanon Valley College with a BA in music. Miriam was a music teacher for the Orwigsburg School District and a piano teacher, and for years served as the organist and choir director at Hetzel's Church.
 
Preceding her in death were her husband, Wesley R. Bazar; a brother, Charles F. Wehry; and a sister, Carolyn I. Wehry.
 
Surviving are two daughters, Alaine J. Edwards of Phoenix, AZ, and Beth A. Bazar of Orwigsburg; two grandchildren, Jill M. Faaborg and Mark A. Peterson; four great-grandchildren, Dallas, Matthew, and Sierra Umbenhauer and Wesley Peterson, all of Phoenix, AZ; and two sisters, Sara L. Ulmer of Schuylkill Haven and Phyllis A. Becker of Bellbrook, OH.
 
Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove, with Rev. Brad Haws officiating. Interment will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove. You may send condolences via our website, www.hlsnyderfuneralhome.com.
