Joseph Moyer Obituary

Joseph E. Moyer
March 3, 2018
Joseph E. Moyer, 63, of Pine Grove passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 3, 2018 in Laurel Center, Hamburg.
Born on May 7, 1954 in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Tennyson and Stella Hand Moyer.
He attended Pine Grove High School.
Joseph was a Machine Operator at Richmond Screw and Anchor, Tremont.
Joe was beloved by his family.  He was known for his generous, kind, fun loving and humorous demeanor, with a little splash of stubbornness.  He was always the first to arrive and the last to leave the annual Moyer Family Reunion.  In addition to loving the game of golf and being skilled on the course, Joe was an avid Nascar and Philadelphia Eagle fan.  He was also passionate about his hobby of woodworking.  On any given day, you could find him holding a coffee from Hess's and in his pockets a scratch off ticket, root beer barrel, cinnamon disc, and tissue.  Above all, Joe was devoted to his family and loved spending time with his children and grandkids, who knew him as "Pappy."  When he would visit his kids out of town he would take them "Schuylkill County" foods like Guers iced tea, beef jerky and homemade pierogies and Meat Pies.
Preceding him in death was a son Joseph Edward Moyer, Jr., and a sister Ruth Ossman.
Surviving are five daughters, Melissa and husband Dan McGoey of Schuylkill Haven, Jill and husband Joseph Faber of Hummelstown, Julie Moyer of Lancaster, Alyssa Williams of Pine Grove, Brittany Moyer of Roanoke, VA;  a son Tyler and wife Samantha Moyer of Jacksonville, Fl.;  8 grandchildren:  Michael McGoey, Owen and Ean Faber, Jade, Jaelena, Juliana, Jaslyn and Julius Grove; 4 brothers, Donald and wife Seray Moyer of North Logan, UT, Robert and wife Ruth Moyer of Millersburg, John and wife Eva Moyer of Tremont and Raymond Moyer of St. Clair;  6 sisters, Joan Harman of Hegins, Helen Shadle of Pine Grove, Susan and husband John Fulkrod of Halifax, Jean and husband Gary Klinger of Lavelle, Patricia Holstlaw and her friend Brett Whiteside of Beaufort, S.C., and Beverly and husband Dave Weller of Orwigsburg, nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Pastor Barry Spatz officiating.  There will be a visitation on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at the Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in the St. Matthew's Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove.
